ARES Net meets every Wednesday night at 8:00 PM CST on 145.230 PL 179.9. Everyone is welcome to check in.

ARES "Amateur Radio Emergency Services" is an organization that several of our members also belong. This organization is one of the most important features of the ham radio community. When there is an emergency and all other forms of communications go down, ham radio is there. Hams can put up antennas and turn on their radios with the help of batteries and generators in a matter of minutes and be able to communicate with the rest of the world.
The ARES group in this area have been provided with an Ambulance from Caldwell County. They are in the processes of equipping this unit with all that it will need to provide the necessary communications needed in an emergency. They are also setting up base stations in the area to help keep the important sections of the county in contact with the other area in the county directly.
We are very proud to be a part of this service and are working hard to make sure it will be ready when an emergency arrises.
